Cross cutting themes are important issues which cut across the four core programme areas that UNDP is working in.

HIV/AIDS, Energy and Environment, and Gender and Women’s empowerment are urgent and pressing concerns which impact on every facet of the development agenda for Uganda. One cannot speak of sustainable development without addressing these themes.

UNDP recognizes this and commits to mainstream them in each of its programme and activities.

By building capacity and providing technical support, we also work to ensure that HIV/AIDS, Energy and Environment and Gender and the empowerment of women are addressed and integrated in the planning, design and implementation of national policies.
