Recently, we at UNDP Uganda underwent a complete renewal of the site which we view as a critical communications tools for our development work. As we continue to develop it, I hope that you will find a wealth of information about our programmes and activities, this amazing country, and development issues in general and how UNDP works to respond to them. Our aim is to make the site the heart of a true development information network.

The UNDP Uganda Country Office launched both the National Human Development Report and the Global Human Development Report late last year. The two reports - which you can access in our Resources database - have the power to bring the human development concept to the heart of national dialogue and policy making in order to enable all Ugandans to enjoy long, healthy and fulfilling lives. Improving the human condition remains UNDP’s top priority.

I would like to help you make the most out of the site, so just a word about how it is organized. We are currently working in three focus areas: Democratic Governance, Poverty Reduction and Crisis Prevention and Recovery, while our Strategy and Policy Unit continues to provide policy advice for the Country Office and our partners.

You can go straight to any of these practice areas from any page through the ‘What We Do’ section.

UNDP Uganda is ‘a trusted partner, supporting Uganda to achieve the Millennium Development Goals’ and you will be able to find all the information you need on the goals and their status in Uganda under the ‘MDGs’ section.

We have also included a section About UNDP in Uganda to explain the history and workings of our organization, and a profile of this beautiful country is available under 'About Uganda'. I encourage you to visit our ‘Newsroom’ as well for the latest on what is happening in the world of development in Uganda.

In all countries with a UNDP office, the UNDP Resident Representative acts as the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations system. The  'UN Coordination' section will provide you with more details on this system.
